The more you practise the better you become…
Join me for Vinyasa Yoga classes in St Albans, Day Yoga Retreats, International Yoga Retreats and online classes, workshops and courses.
I discovered yoga in my early twenties during a time when I was struggling with an eating disorder. I remember reading an article about Geri Halliwell and how yoga had helped her to accept her body and quiet her tormented mind. Something I was desperate to achieve!
A few years later I walked into my first hot yoga class and was immediately hooked! Little did I know at the time but I was pregnant with my second daughter so had to take a break. When I was able to return to my mat I tried many styles of yoga, and completely fell in love with Vinyasa. Vinyasa yoga links breath with movement, for me this became my moving meditation because when I first started practising yoga I don't mind admitting that I struggled to be still with my thoughts. I immediately completed my first 200hr vinyasa teacher teacher training shortly after.
About
I believe I make yoga accessible for everyone, what ever age, body type or ability. I am passionate about the safety of my students therefore teach with a strong emphasis on alignment and offer verbal and physical adjustments where needed. I offer challenging classes but they are always playful and I encourage everyone to support each other and to believe in themselves. What I love the most is helping people build strength and confidence in their bodies. If there are difficulties in my life I always come back to my practise and suddenly everything feels ok again, this is what I hope to translate in my teachings.
I have had the privilege of teaching in many different settings, including studios, schools, offices and a rehab centre. I teach a number of day retreats/ international retreats a year but what I am most proud of is the beautiful community we have created.
I trained in 100 hour hot yoga and 200 hour vinyasa yoga, and have continued learning through workshops/ trainings with many senior registered teachers. However I truly believe self practise is the best teacher.
